On January 30th-February 1st, the Saugus girls lacrosse team will be competing in a tournament in Buellton California. There will be 3 games on January 31st and 1 game on February 1st. The girls team has been practicing for months and putting in hard work to prepare for the tournament and this season.
This team’s biggest strength is communication and effort. Whether the girls win or lose, effort and communicating will never be hard for these girls. The coaches have provided amazing examples with great drills and work ethic
I interviewed JV coach Hailey and asked her “What made you want to start playing lacrosse?” She replied “When I started high school I wanted to do a sport that I could do with my friends. A lot of them were playing lacrosse and I liked the idea of being a part of a team with people I already knew and as time progressed I began to love the sport”. The next question I asked her was “what position did you play” she responded “the position i played was defense”. Lastly i asked her “what is your favorite part about being a coach”. Her response was “My favorite part about being a coach is seeing how much every girl puts in effort and seeing improvement from every one of them.
As this season starts, the girls will strive to put in effort and determination. Each girl puts in hard work and dedication and aims to be a better player each and every day.
