At Saugus High School Jason Bornn has made a great impact. Jason is the head coach and defensive coordinator of Saugus’s varsity football team, and a U.S. History teacher in building K. He has been the head coach for 36 years and a teacher for 23, and has created a ground breaking program that is based on life lessons as much as sporting success.
Background
Bornn is a respected educator and coach whose career is based on leadership, service and the development of young scholars. Bornn attended California State University Northridge where he received his Bachelors degree in Science. While in college he served as a reservist in the Marine Corps, stationed in Long Beach CA. In 2001 Bornn went on to achieve his Masters in Educational Administration at Point Loma University.
Career Journey
Bornn is in his 36th year of coaching, and is entering his 23rd year of coaching at Saugus High School. Before coaching at Saugus, Bornn coached at various schools for example Village Christian where he built a representation of an aggressive hard-nose. Bornn has carried the Saugus Centurions to four football titles in 2008,2011,2020, and 2021 and as well brung them to four semi-final appearances in 2007,2008,2016, and 2013. Coach Bornn also was a coach at John Muir High School, where he was an assistant coach and defensive coordinator.
