This week’s new spotlight is… Bryce Arietta! Bryce is 14, a freshman who plays varsity soccer. He’s 5’5 130 pounds and is a fantastic player! He attends Saugus Highschool, playing for the centurions. Bryce plays___ and with the soccer season coming around the corner, he had a couple words to say.
“To be honest with you, I’m not trying to be biased, but the team is looking very good. We have been dialed all offseason, training to the max. At first, obviously as a freshman on varsity, it was kind of intimidating. But after a couple weeks, my teammates really started to take me in and treat me as brothers. As the months went on, we have just been so electric. Every practice has a ton of energy from everyone. We all want it this year. Bad. We want to bring the amazing seniors a championship!”
“Thats great to here man, How are you personally feeling going into the season”
“I really don’t think I’m going to get a lot of playtime, but I am just so blessed to be a part of the varsity roster and to experience this. One way or another it’s going to be a benefit. I’m going to prove to them why I deserve this spot.”
“Thats good to hear, are you healthy? And how do you feel about your schedule?”
“Um, I’ve always had a little bit of ankle pain, but I always play through it, so other than that no. But to answer your question I don’t personally know any of these teams, but the way my teammates are talking about it, it seems like a very promising season.”
“So what about next year? You mentioned an “amazing senior” class? Explain to me your thoughts.”
“Yeah so we are losing some key seniors. But we have a ton of talent in our program. The future is bright, and I think we will be just fine. Our team will be great!”
“That’s great! I know it’s a bit early but what do you plan on doing for the offseason?”
“No, yeah no worries. I definitely have to hope I grow. I’m still young but I’m going to work on my strength, conditioning and definitely the stuff I can control.”
“That’s great to hear. Ok anyways thank you for sitting down and sitting with me Bryce, it was a great interview.”
“No, yeah, Thank you for interviewing me.”
So Bryce Arietta, watch out for his name in the near future. He is going places!
