As February approaches, so does the day filled with love and joy known as Valentine’s Day. Along with the holiday arriving, grocery stores are starting to prepare Valentine’s-themed foods. One store that always goes all out every year is Trader Joes.
Many know Trader Joes as an affordable place to get healthier options for food. Recently Trader Joes has just released their new valentine’s day collection of foods. Saugus Scroll has visited Trader Joes and observed all the new additions. Many of the foods are correlated with heart shapes, pink, red, and Valentine’s Day in general. The new releases vary from full meals, to snacks, and desserts.
If one’s craving a nice meal from Trader Joe’s, the Newly released Valentine’s Day pasta. The first pasta released was the Italian Artisan Heart Shaped Pasta. This pasta includes normal-colored heart pasta mixed with red heart pasta. A perfect pair for this meal would be to include some Italian pasta sauce and cheddar cheese. Trader Joe’s also recently released Ricotta Cuoricini Ravioli. This pasta is ravioli shaped into hearts. The color combination is pink with the normal pasta color in the middle. Inside the ravioli are ricotta cheese and the ravioli itself is made from cuoricini pasta. This pasta can also be paired with a wide assortment of pasta sauces or just butter.
Some other things that Trader Joes has recently released from their Valentine’s Day collection are festive snacks. One of these snacks are sugared rice cracker hearts. These snacks are shaped like hearts and are pink and white. They are both sweet and salty. Another snack released are the mini heart cookies. These cookies are heart-shaped with dark chocolate covering. These cookies also have pink and red colored sprinkles.
More releases include many different deserts. One of these desserts is the sugar cookie dough cookies. These cookies come as raw sugar cookie dough with pink hearts. It takes about 15 minutes to bake and they come out as perfect pink heart cookies. Another dessert is the Raspberry Hearts. These are shortbread heart cookies with raspberry jelly on the inside. If someone is looking for a bigger dessert for parties and gatherings there are newly released cakes. One newly released cake is the Chocolate Mousse Cake. This cake is a heart-shaped chocolate cake with rich mousse filling. Trader Joe’s also has some small desserts like Jelly Bean Hearts, Chocolate Covered Strawberry mix, Caramel Hearts, and Xs and Os gummies.
Saugus Scroll interviewed a Saugus athlete, Audrey Smith. And asked her what her favorite thing is from Trader Joe’s new releases. Audrey mentioned, “I really like the ravioli pasta. I love the heart shapes and it tastes perfect with some marinara sauce”
