Every week, the famous bakery, Crumbl Cookie, promotes a new selection of six cookies to sell in numerous communities across the United States. People of all ages enjoy these sweet treats at all times of the day and it is one of the main topics on the campus of Saugus High School. This week (October 21 -26) the cookie line-up includes: Milk Chocolate Chip, Banana Upside Down Cake, Pink Velvet Cookie, Confetti Milkshake, Kentucky Butter Cake, and Sticky Bun. With a sweet tooth and money on hand – myself and another Saugus senior, Ming Lee, indulged in these delicious cookies to see if they were worth the buck!
As we spent $24.99 and walked out of the shop with high hopes; the cookies’ aroma made us so excited to try them. On a scale from 1 to 10, Lee and I rated the cookies. Starting at his favorite flavor Pink Velvet, Lee elaborates, “I rate this cookie a 10/10 because of its fluffy texture, on-point velvet flavor, and fulfilling icing to bring the cookie’s sweetness together.” Next, ranking at number two for him is Sticky Bun: “This cookie is a 9/10 since I am a huge cinnamon fan and the crumble on top was perfectly crunchy, the only thing bringing this cookie down a point was the super crisp texture.” Moving down the line, the third favorite cookie is Kentucky Butter Cake. Ming briefly explains, “Since the cookie had a very strong buttery flavor it deserves an 8.5/10.” Fourth place goes to a classic – Milk Chocolate Chip, “I always love this cookie because you can just never go wrong with chocolate chip cookies, so I rank it a 7/10,” Lee states. The last two cookies are Ming’s least favorite flavors, as the fifth being Banana Upside Down Cake and sixth Confetti Milkshake. Lee expresses, “Banana is definitely a 6/10 because the banana flavor is very underwhelming and I do not favor the whip on top. The Confetti Milkshake deserves a 4/10 because I don’t like chilled cookies, the icing is super overwhelming and there is no confetti, birthday cake flavor.” Ming believes this week’s line-up was one of the best and even though he gave a very honest opinion to these cookies, they were all enjoyable to invest in.
My rating of the line-up was almost similar to Ming’s. My favorite cookie, ranking at #1 is Kentucky Butter cake and I rate this a 10 out of 10. Taking a bite into it the crunch on the outside and soft, perfectly baked dough on the inside – the cookie tasted perfect. Second on my list is their new flavor, Banana Upside Down Cake and I rate it a 9.5/10 because of the light whip on top with caramel drizzle over a soft and moist bundt cake that satisfies every taste bud. Moving along, the Pink Velvet cookie surprised me with how enjoyable it was because I thought it would be too sweet. I give this cookie an 8/10 because of its perfect sugary icing and textured dough. Similar to Ming’s fourth place ranking – the cookie that could never go wrong – Milk Chocolate chip is always one of my favorites. I rate it a 7.5/10, as it’s filled with rich chocolate chips and appetizing brown sugar dough, every warm bite is fulfilling. Surprisingly their second new flavor that I thought I would really, but did not is Sticky Bun. This cookie rates at a 6/10 for me because the cinnamon dough and caramel on top did not compliment each other in my opinion, but I loved the crunchy texture of the cookie. Finally, super sugary cookies are never my first choice, so #6 results in Confetti Milkshake. This cookie had too much frosting on top with little cake flavor to the dough making it taste bland; I would not get this cookie again.
All in all, this week was fantastically created by the Crumbl Cookie team. These treats are always worth the purchase because they promise their customers to get the “bang for their buck.” Followed by millions of foodie fans, this franchise never fails to make sure that everyone strolls out of the store with warm cookies to make their smiles grow bigger with every bite. From the cinnamon sugar in their Sticky Bun cookie, to their perfectly baked Milk Chocolate chip, the recognizable establishment makes their cookies flavored to perfection.
