Boa has peaked in its recent years, the group starting their first full tour in early September. I attended their concert on September 13th, 2024. It was so amazing; the audience was loud and involved which made it all the more fun. Being with people who share the same musical interests you do almost makes you feel like a big family, which is one of the many things I love about concerts. The concert took place at Fonda Theatre, which is one of their bigger venues of the tour holding 1,200 people, standing room and balcony. Even the bassist of the band, Alex Caird, said in “the last few gigs … The audiences have been amazing!!”
I also asked Caird some questions about comparisons between this tour and their others. “This is a different ball game. Before we only did a small U.K run as well as a couple conventions. Now that our fanbase has grown we’re setup to tour properly which is great. We have a great crew and management as well as a great label that is keeping everything on track.” Some upcoming shows they have include Seattle, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, etc.
Some of my favorite songs played at the concert were Drinking, Duvet, Worry, and Twilight. As someone who has been a Boa listener for a pretty long time, hearing some of my favorite songs live was a really crazy experience. The band sounds even better in person compared to when they are recorded. Jasmine Rodgers, guitarist and vocalist of bôa, sounded insane! She has so much control over her voice it’s super impressive.
Overall, the concert was so amazing and surreal. I hope to see them again!
