The singer that nobody knew would make it this far, made it with over 1.5 billion streams and 6 nominations for the VMA’s. Heading back to 2021, a new singer was introduced to the country music association. This singer is known as Megan Moroney. Megan Moroney is an American country music singer and songwriter born in Douglasville, Georgia. She was first discovered when she sang at an all-you-can-eat Waffle House Benefit. In no time, she started her career when she released her single, “Wonder” in 2021. This song includes a message that one should never let their partner make them wonder if they are unloyal. This song soon got on the charts and the word of the new country girl singer started to get out.
Soon after “Wonder” went well, Megan started to write songs for her album, “Pistol Made of Roses”. She released the album in 2022. It consisted of 6 tracks. The tracks were called, “I Love Me”, “Hair Salon”, “‘Till It All Goes South”, “Fix You Too”, “He Made Me Do It”, and “Keep the Flowers”. Each track includes a representation of Megan’s love story being filled with mixed emotions from her significant other. Soon after releasing the album, she released her dates for the “Pistol Made of Roses” tour in the spring of 2023.
As her first album got popular quickly, she decided to come out with her second album, “Lucky”. This album was released in 2023 and had 13 tracks. The tracks included, “I’m Not Pretty”, “Lucky”, “Tennessee Orange”, “Kansas Anymore”, “Girl In the Mirror”, “Another on the Way”, “Traitor Joe”, “Why Johnny”, “God Plays a Gibson”, “Georgia Girl”, “Sleep on My Side”, “Mustang or Me”, and “Sad Songs for Sad People”. These tracks described Megan Moroney’s relationship status as a heartbreak. Her most popular song that put her on the charts as Nashville’s most compelling new country artist was “Tennessee Orange”. As this song made her reach the top 40 of the Billboard 200, more and more people started to hear about her and eventually she released the dates for her lucky tour in September of 2023.
The next year, Megan Moroney traveled to different states with Kenny Chesney, another country artist, for his “Sun Goes Down” 2024 tour. In the meantime, Megan was busy writing songs for her newly released album called, “Am I Okay?”. This album was released a few months ago on July 12th. It consists of 14 tracks and they’re doing great in the music industry. The songs are, “Am I Okay?”, “Third Time’s the Charm”, “No Caller ID”, “Man on the Moon”, “28th of June”, “Indifferent”, “Noah”, “Miss Universe”, “Mama I Lied”, “I Know You”, “The Girls”, “Heaven By Noon”, “Hope You’re Happy”, and “Hell of a Show”. Most of the songs in the album summarize a heartbreak Megan Moroney was going through. However, “The Girls” expresses Megan Moroney’s appreciation for her best friends sticking with her through the hardest times. After interviewing a student at Saugus about their thoughts on Megan’s new album, Makea Leonard, a junior athlete, claimed,”I really like her album and the song “Am I Okay” is really good. I like this song because I can definitely relate to some of the lyrics”.
Along with the album, Megan Moroney just released her tour dates for her 2025 “Am I Okay” tour. As of right now, there are no tour locations located on the west coast of the U.S but there are rumors that those dates might be released soon. However, if you do want to buy a ticket for a further location, head over to Ticketmaster, Seat Geek, or axs. Most of the tickets now are resale tickets so they range from 200-800 but if you’re able to get tickets first, they can range from 40-120. Megan also dropped her new merch line including 4 new graphic t-shirts, a hoodie, and a trucker hat which can all be seen in booths at her concert.
Overall, Megan Moroney has worked hard to get to where she reaches to this day. One should know to always support small artists because you never know what they might become.
