Staff Spotlight: All About Tom
Thomas Beam is a campus supervisor at Saugus High. He is a kind, funny, and very
beloved man. He always greets students and staff at school with a smile. If you were to walk past him during school, he’d crack you a joke accompanied with a grand smile. Tom takes his job very seriously and is always willing to give out a helping hand. Tom is a very selfless guy who is always thinking about others. He shows up for the students of Saugus every day without any complaint.
Thomas Beam grew up in a small town in Cleveland, Ohio the town was called Bay Village just west of Cleveland. During his time in High School, he played four years of varsity sports including basketball, football, and track! Halfway through his senior year, he moved to Downey California. After high school, he was able to attend the University of California, in Los Angeles. He married his wife during his junior year of college and then he was later able to become the father of a son and daughter. He now has four grandchildren and two great-grandsons that he’s very proud of! He was married for twelve years then became a single parent and took care of both of his children full-time! (What a hard worker!) He was able to run his own business as well, which was a wholesale/retail business and he ran it for forty years in total!!! After retiring he decided to become a campus supervisor and now has been working at Saugus for ten amazing years. He says that he is very proud of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all the people he has met during his time at Saugus!
As you can see Tom is an amazing person and a very kind soul. He loves his community and is always willing to help. His life can be a big inspiration for many years to come, many people look up to him and love to be around him. He is a father, a grandparent, a business owner, and a staple of Saugus High School. He is loved by every student and staff here and is such a help to our school and community.
