Autumn is a great season to start planning outings with friends or significant others. It is the season of Thanksgiving and Halloween, which calls for the warm feeling of spending time with important people in your life.
A pumpkin patch is a great place for a fall-themed date! When visiting a pumpkin patch you have the option of purchasing as many pumpkins as you’d like. Some patches provide bounce houses, small simple rides like the swings, or sometimes even a small petting zoo like goats and other animals. You’ll see kids running around, pumpkins laying on the floor with stacks of hay, people taking pictures, and all kinds of food vendors. You can start carving the pumpkins you and your partner have decided to purchase. See who can carve the best jack-o-lantern out of a pumpkin, or try to create one that resembles inspiration from the internet. Either way, continue your date night or hangout with a pumpkin themed hour featuring roasted pumpkin seeds and go get the seasonal drinks that Starbucks offers. Photo:
The season of Fall is the perfect time to curl up with a blanket, a hot beverage, and watch back to back episodes of your comfort show with your partner. There are just some shows that allow you to experience the coziness of Fall. One idea of a feel-good fall show that everyone can watch is Gilmore Girls! This show is set in a small Connecticut town where everyone knows one another and where fall seems to last all year. Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, a mother-daughter / best friend duo, are followed in the series as they learn to grapple with close to home friendships and relationship connections. It is endearing, heartwarming, and entertaining enough to watch hours on end. Other shows are October Road, This is Us, Hubie Halloween, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Fall is also football season, which makes Friday Night Lights a perfect fit for this list. For this drama, you don’t have to be a sports lover. The story follows a football theme in a tiny community in Texas that deals with classic American trials and tribulations. Or, if you like shows or movies on the scarier side some movie are: The Haunting, Insidious, Hereditary, Separation and my favorite, Smile, which is about a psychiatrist who believes she is being stalked by an explainable creature after witnessing a bizarre and distressing episode involving a patient.

While watching one of the shows above you can dedicate an evening to making easy snacks that are associated with Autumn and Halloween. You and your S.O. can try to make chocolate covered pretzel turkeys! First, you can fill up a glass bowl with melted chocolate. Then, dip some pretzel sticks into the bowl of chocolate and roll them in fall colored sprinkles. Another easy snack are Reeses’ turkeys, with stacked reese’s peanut butter cups!
In the end, fall is a romantic time to enjoy with your significant others. So, savor the chill in the air and spend your dates with these fall themed activities, and maybe even throw your own twists on them!
