
As the school year has begun, there may be a ton of stress that you are dealing with that can stem from homework,friendships, tests and much more but people tend to forget about the importance of taking care of yourself which should be most important. Whether it’s journaling, meditating, or even watching your favorite movie there are many things you can do to take care of yourself.
One idea of self care is watching your favorite movie. After a long day at school or work or even just being social it can be very draining. Getting into your favorite pair of comfy clothes and turning on your favorite movie or show can help make you feel less exhausted and drained and may even recharge your social batteries.
Another idea of self care can be journaling. Journaling can be super overlooked and is actually super helpful. It can help you reduce stress and anxiety and understand everything that you are feeling. By understanding your feelings it helps you reflect on your thoughts and emotions. Journaling can also help you get your feelings out without being judged or feeling guilt for what you’re upset about.
Audrina Messina, a saugus freshman, finds self care super important. “ Listening to music and relaxing can be very calming and distracting to any stress or anxiousness”. Audrina says,“it’s important because it helps calm your brain and body down so that you can be relaxed and refueled. It’s also just time for you to be able to take time for yourself and do what you like”.
Self care needs to be talked about more and is very important. It can relieve anxiety and stress and can help you stay positive and maintain relationships. Whether it’s taking a bath, watching the sunset, reading a book or just taking a nap, self care is super beneficial to do for yourself.
