Travis Alas is a junior at Saugus High School who used to play soccer but currently does football for the Centurions. Travis played soccer during his freshman year on frosh as a forward and half of sophomore year on junior varsity still as a forward. He had lots of passion for soccer, often getting the game MVP title. He gave it his all during each soccer game helping his team score goals. However, he was open to trying something new and ultimately leaving soccer behind to start a new chapter in football.
Travis started football during the second half of his sophomore year starting off on junior varsity as a kicker. Then moving his way up to varsity his junior year as line backer. Even though he was new to the sport he wasn’t new to the game and was locked in from the start. Travis has made being at weight room every morning and practice every afternoon his main priority. As a student athlete there’s always room for improvement. Travis said, “skills I want to improve most is tackling harder and being faster”.
Besides being a multi-sport athlete, Travis has other hobbies and goals outside of school. Travis shares, “my future goals would be to go to law school to become a lawyer”. He has the desire to stay healthy and strong sharing, “outside of school I workout everyday and try to get in lots of protein”. He also shared, “as a student I would describe myself as productive and active”.
Travis has successfully adapted his skills and continues to grow as a student and athlete in high school. He moves in silence but his achievements are loud and heard. He has enjoyed his time in high school so far and can’t wait to see what’s next in store for him moving forward.
