The first rally of the school year was very exciting. It consisted of the band, national anthem, a phenomenal cheer and dance performance, ASB handshakes, dances, and more! This rally definitely got the crowd hype with the decorations, lights off, and performances. Starting off with the band, the sounds of drumming and the trumpet was truly an excellent introduction to start off the rally. According to Audrey DeWeber, “The band’s practice truly paid off, and was shown in the performance.”
Next, the national anthem was a very respectable way to open for the cheerleaders. According to Siria Martinez, “When Makayla sang the national anthem it gave me literal chills.” Clearly, the national anthem was a shock to everyone, as the performance was quite perfect. I know that everyone took the time to take in this memorable performance.
Third, the cheer performance will not be one to forget. With this upbeat music and daring flips, it sure caught people’s attention. Freshman cheerleader Siria Martinez stated, “Our performance was good overall; I know that everyone was nervous to perform in front of the whole school. However, we trained for multiple hours and knew we were prepared for this.” As stated, the cheerleaders’ hard work paid off in their performance. Even though the cheerleaders were nervous, their performance was unforgettable and shocked everyone with their amazing skills.
Lastly, the dance performance was a great way to conclude the rally, as it left people in awe. Gwen Wilson described the dance as, “enthusiastic.” The dance team did a great job of entertaining the crowd and keeping everyone entertained. Furthermore, the dance team has been preparing for this almost every day the previous week. So, given their dedicated preparation it led to an outstanding performance. The dancers truly gave it their all in their performance. They put pride in their every move and always had a smile on their face. The dance team seemed to even inspire others as their performance was a shock to everyone.
This rally definitely got everyone excited and hyped up for homecoming. The performances were incredible, showing Saugus’ great talent. Everyone was loud and cheering, proving the rally was a success. The whole school should definitely be ready for homecoming after this mind-blowing success. As shown, this rally was a great way to get everyone thrilled for homecoming 2025!
