On August 18 2025, a man located in Canyon Country, California was walking near Via
Princessa when he reported that somebody was carrying a firearm behind him. Later that night
the same caller stated that he was still being followed by this individual near Jakes way and
Sandy Drive.
Deputies responded to the call and identified that there was no one in the vicinity
of Jakes Way and Sandy drive with a firearm. Deputies left the scene. For the rest of the night
the calls went silent and left officers puzzled by what happened.
The next morning officers believed something to be off. This led officers to believe that the caller had left a false report. When officers called the contact things were off as the call continued they had determined that this may have been a false report. As officers worked quickly and efficiently they detained the suspect. After a background check and a few finger print officers found out that this was not the first time this suspect has had legal trouble.
Some of the suspect’s former charges include parole violation and possession of drug paraphernalia in a jail facility. All of these charges could add up to a felony charge if found guilty on the suspicions. But if found guilty just on the false the report will only be a misdemeanor.
Police thoroughly swept the area and found no suspicion of anything unusually happening. This not only will help the case of the police station but also the fact that he could have been on a substance that may have caused him to call the police.
This case will take place sometime in the future. The odds against the suspect are substantial but the charges could be anything from a one thousand dollar fine and six months in jail to over five years in jail and a handful of other fines.
While unknown of what the suspect sentence will be we can infer that he will at least 6 months in prison for failing parole protocols.
For the likes of home owners in Jakes Way and Sandy Drive they can sleep safely at night knowing that the police force is on top of it and dedicated to protecting their homes.
For the likes of our suspect we hope he pays for the crimes he has committed and changes his ways and can do better in the future. Everyone knows the consequences of a false report.
As seen in this case a false report was just the tip of the crimes. At any time past crimes can become reality and their consequences will still be used and will ring in the minds of the victim. If the crime can result in 6 months to 10 years in jail every crime is subject to a fair trial and the appropriate consequences.
Asking a recent reader of the topic, Kari, she said, “Causing panic and pandemonium can greatly impact not only a town but a whole city and those that decide to place a community on this type of stress deserves the utmost consequences.”
