I’m really excited to improve my skills and bond with the team.” She also talks about how the matches they have played have been really good, “the first few games have been really good, I’ve put in a lot of work and love in them.” Even according to the scoreboard she is right! With Varsity winning all of their away games, with their first game against St. Bonaventure ending in 15-3 with Saugus winning. With both Varsity and JV ending the preseason on a good note, they are starting league very soon! In an interview with Saugus High School English Teacher and Varsity Tennis Coach, Coach Bailey, she says that the preseason matches were really good at preparing the players for their upcoming season.“We had a really great preseason. We beat schools that have beaten us in the past and it was a great confidence boost for the girls. We had some close matches as well, which helped the girls learn to deal with pressure and closing matches. Our league is competitive, so having some tight matches in preseason is a great way for them to practice their mental toughness.” These players are getting better with all of their games and practices and this is just the preseason so lets hope to see more wins across the board from Saugus!
