Matt Long plays football for Saugus high school and he is a person to look up to on campus. He is a 4.1 average GPA student and excels in the classroom and on the field, as he won Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week for the first week of school.
Matt Long has been through a lot during his time at Saugus: he played football freshman year in the fall then went onto play baseball in the spring while still averaging a 4.1 average gpa. Now, Matt is a junior and he is still excelling in everything he does on the field and in the classroom, he got ten tackles and one touchdown in his first game.
Matt answered a few questions that I asked him to hopefully help some people out that go to Saugus
- In your own words, how is it like at Saugus? Saugus is amazing, the teachers help us out when we need it, the campus is beautiful and I really like the people here.
- What is your academic life like? My academic life is chill. I get very little to no homework and on the days I do end up getting homework my teachers will give me extensions if I need it for football, I get very good grades resulting in my 4.1 gpa average.
- What is football like during the offseason and during the regular season? Football before the season is very intense and very crucial to get all the plays down for our upcoming season, during the regular season we are more focused on plays based on the teams we were playing.
- What is the main challenge you have faced junior year? The main challenge I have faced junior year is looking at colleges I want to go to and start looking at all the things I need to apply for that college and going to as many college camps as I can for baseball.
- How would you compare junior year to sophomore year considering school and sports? Junior year and sophomore year feel very similar work wise for school and sports wise also.
Matt Long is an exceptional student-athlete and sets the bar high for anyone wanting to be a student-athlete. Hopefully these questions helped answer some questions that people have.
