On Tuesday the 15th of august, at 1:23, a fire engine for Station 111 was dispatched to a reported collision at Whites Canyon Road and Nadal street near by canyon high school. They arrived on scene at 1:26 pm. The fire stations spokesperson at this moment has been unable to clarify what actually caused the fire truck to crash. Details on this incident are very limited and it is unclear whether another vehicle was involved or just the firetruck. Video footage from the Citizen App shows the fire engine jumping the curb and colliding with a wall in front of a residence and it appears to be a single car accident. While it is unclear as to how exactly it happened damage shows to be semi-severe. In photos the fire truck appears to be visibly damaged, with damage to bumper, grill and front windows knocked out. The wall of the residence that was damaged by the truck is completely plowed down with bricks spread everywhere. It is not confirmed by the fire spokesman but according to KTLA 5 one victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A Saugus student said in a quote “If they’re driving like that they clearly need to retake their driving test and get a drug test or something” about this event. This incident was posted on the instagram account Whatsupscv where commenters offered many explanations to this incident.
Commenter “davehalina” claims “black SUV got in the way” commenter “vanessaromo80” reiterated with “there is a black suv (like a black cadillac) you don’t see here that was also involved. Passed by as soon as it happen.” Another commenter “bruce_finely” commented “ouch. I heard capt got hurt. Hope hes doing fine” Commenter “art.by.bruce13” tunes in with this unrealistic explanation “The fire truck was speeding with its emergency lights off an doing donuts in the intersection of [Nadel and Whites] screaming out thuglife and money aint a thing something about yolo idk” Commeter “sunoflion” angrily states “Okay for real!!!SCV is averaging 2-3 accidents daily?! Maybe more!!! Mine was 3 weeks ago tomorrow…still waiting for my report @scvsheriff” shedding light on the frequency of accidents in Santa Clarita with it even affecting the fire station. While it isn’t clear of what exactly happened one thing is clear and that is reckless driving from one or more party is involved in someway.
