In-N-out is one of the most popular restaurants in the state. But is it actually worth all the hype and unbelievably long lines? In-N-out was founded in 1948 on October 22nd in Baldwin Park, CA. Ever since then it has been packed everyday from day to night, with it being the least busy from the hours 2-4pm. Recently it’s been questioned if it is actually that good.
The legendary In-N-Out started because of a man named Harry Synder. At first, he had a job of cooking burgers and working nights at his garage, he later decided to pursue his vision of guests being able to order and receive their food without having to leave their cars. The unique introduction of the two way speakers and drive thru service gave In-N-Out its name, even though we all know its pull into the drive thru and wait 30 minutes to get your order.

In Santa Clarita, In-N-Out is the place to go after football games, dances, concerts in the park, any occasions really. The Scroll has asked a few people if they think it is worth the hype and most of their opinions were a little different. When we asked Matthew Perez he stated, “Yes I do, because it’s good. I also love the shakes. I order a 3 by 3 for now and a 2 by 2 for later, with an unsweetened iced tea and a large chocolate shake.” But when we asked Alex Mia he said “No, the food is a hit or miss.” Lastly, when the Scroll asked Saugus alumni, Lilly Lindstrom, she said “I think it depends on the night. Like sometimes it’s really good and hits the spot, but sometimes the food isn’t the best. I love the fries though, especially with cheese.”
The most popular items from In-N-Out include; 3×3 burger, grilled cheese, animal fries, Neapolitan shake, double-double, root beer float, cheeseburger, and animal burger. Personally my favorite thing from the menu is a double-double with only meat, cheese, and bun, with cheese fries, and a root beer.

In my opinion, In-N-Out is not worth the hype. I think the fries are gross and soggy or too stale, they also taste like cardboard. Something I do like about In-N-Out is how nice all the employees are. The customer service is amazing there. I also love the memories I’ve made at In-N-Out with all of my friends. The burgers and shakes are decent but I do not think it is worth how long the lines always are.
