The Era’s Tour was Taylor Swift’s 6th tour starting on March 17, 2023 going until November 23, 2024. Going around the 5 continents Taylor is performing 146 shows. She opened the tour in Glendale, Arizona starting her journey for the next year and a half.
The Eras Tour got its name from the 10 eras of Taylor Swift’s music in the order Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. At Taylor’s Concert she performs multiple songs from each of the 10 eras having an outfit switch for every one of them. Towards the end of the concert she also performs 2 surprise songs from different albums that weren’t included in the 10 original eras. Taylor fans became very connected with each other by going around trading friendship bracelets that they had made. Each of these colorful bracelets would have something that resembled something like an album or a song. Swifties would come home with over 50 bracelets just from trading with other fans at the tour. This led to craft stores everywhere being completely sold out of supplies including beads and string.
One of Taylor’s fans, Paige Smith says “It was one of the most magical nights of my life. I loved how everyone knew the lyrics and could scream the songs together.” This was the opinion most of the Swifties had towards the concert.
There are few controversies about the Era’s tour but there are many upset fans. Fans are angry that the tickets, even the nosebleeds, are over $800 which makes it difficult for everyone to be able to go and enjoy it. USA TODAY mentions, “..shows in Los Angeles will bring an estimated 320 million increase to the gross domestic product of the city..” The Eras Tour caused huge effects on our economy. Another thing people are upset about is how quickly the tickets sell out and how many scam websites there are. Taylor’s fans would sit at their computer for hours trying to get tickets and still were unsuccessful, leading to them just sitting outside the stadium during the concert. NBC15 states that there’s “..estimated 14 million people vying for roughly 625,000 tickets.” Fans started to rely on resellers who would then would scam them.
Overall, the few in the population who got to go were extremely lucky and enjoyed it a lot. Most of them say they would do anything to relive that night.
The aftermath of the Era’s Tour led to the next big thing now. Many Fans were upset that they couldn’t attend the Era’s Tour so now the Concert has been made into a film. The tickets that were on presale had sold out within minutes even though the movie isn’t going to be released until October 13th, 2023. The demand for the Era’s Tour tickets were high and now the demand for the movie tickets have to be dealt with too. AMC has mentioned to customers that they “may experience delays, longer-than-usual ticket-purchase waiting-room times and possible outages” but they are doing everything in their power to keep everything controlled. This is definitely going to bring up the sales in movie tickets especially after the sales went down in 2020 due to the pandemic. Swifties are very glad they now have this opportunity since they could not attend the concert.
