In 2023 fans have been riled up and very excited for movies that are coming out at the end of the year. In the past, people have made public opinions on movies and even dressed up to go and see them. There have been multiple popular movies that have already come out this year, but there are even more that haven’t come out yet. With movies that are starring big-time and new-coming actors, the public will likely be excited to see these movies and they may become popular very fast.
One of the movies fans are very excited to see is The Nun ll. This second edition to the infamous horror film is premiering on September 8th of this year. The film will be starring Bonnie Aarons who will be returning to play Valak the demon nun and Taissa Famiga returning to her character Sister Irine from the first installment of this franchise.Not much is known about what will happen in The Nun ll which will create the element of surprise that horror fans love. These horror fans will also love the fact that our local theater, Regal Edwards Valencia, will be showing this movie right when it comes out or soon after it does, along with the rest of the movies talked about in this article. A few other films coming out this year are also horror movies. Saw X will be coming out September 29 of this year. This will be the 10th movie in the Saw franchise. Tobin Bell will be starring as Jigsaw as he has for the past movies. Shawnee Smith will also be back for her role as Amanda Young. Saw X will be about John Kramer going to Mexico City to get treated for his terminal illness and then finding out he’s been scammed. This movie will be rated R along with, The Exorcist: Believer and The Nun ll which means that the people who go to see this movie at any theater will need to be 17 years old or have an adult accompanying them. Another horror film coming out this year is The Exorcist: Believer which will be in theaters starting October 13th. This movie will be starring Olivia Marcum and Lidya Jewett as possessed tweens. Ellen Burstyn will be playing Chris MacNeil in this movie as well. This edition of The Exorcist will be about a mother trying to save her daughter from being possessed by putting her through a brutal exorcism. This will be the sixth Exorcist movie installment. With such an exciting and scary movie fans will want to watch this in the best quality theaters which include the AMC theaters, one of the theaters being located in Burbank. Drifting away from the horror genre, another movie fans have been anticipating is Dune: Part Two. This film will be starring Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Zendaya as Chani, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, and Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnan. This movie will come out November 3rd. With this movie having many popular actors it will become popular very quickly. Zendaya says that this film is a “Beautiful Love Story” (Animated Times)

An additional film coming out this year is The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. This film is a prequel to The Hunger Games movie trilogy. Rachel Zegler will be starring as Lucy Gray Baird alongside Tom Blythe as Coriolanus Snow. This movie will follow a young Coriolanus Snow and his journey to become a villain in The Hunger Games trilogy. Lastly, the movie Wonka will come out December 15 this year. This film based on young Willy Wonka will be about Wonka’s journey to becoming a chocolate-maker. Timothee Chalamet will also be starring in this film as Willy Wonka. Another Saugus student, Nathan Griffiths says,
“I’m probably most excited for Wonka because I liked the trailer.” With teenagers being excited, Wonka may become a very popular film. WONKA | Official Trailer
Even though many popular movies have already come out this year, there are still films coming to the big screen that might give those movies a run for their money. With some of the actors and actresses in these up-coming movies, many are anticipating these films and it is possible that they will become big hits
