On September 17th, Saugus High School defeated Oxnard 35-12 at the Homecoming Game. Saugus High has loved to have students back on campus and especially back at the football games.

Jeremy Fannon the ASB director talked about the halftime show saying “During our halftime, we always recognize our homecoming court. We announce all of our underclass princes and princesses. Then we announce the senior boys, then the senior girls and their escorts. We get all of the girls on stage and then we reveal who our queen is”.

Fannon also commented on the floats “We do homecoming floats before the game. This year’s theme was 80s High School Movies. Each class adopted a different movie. The movies that were adopted were: Seniors – Back to the Future, Juniors – Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Sophomores – The Breakfast Club, Freshmen – Footloose”. The class that won the float competition was the senior class.

Saugus’ varsity football coach Jason Bornn told the Scroll “It was great to have fans other than parents in the stands for the first time in a year and half. The fact that it was Homecoming and that students got to attend and cheer the team on was great”. Bornn also commented on the crowd saying “We look forward to having more of the student body on hand at all our games to cheer the team on and support the Saugus community”.

Saugus had the same mentality and preparation going into the game, Sebastian Dallaire said, “We knew that we have been doing good so far and there aren’t things we did differently. We warmed up the same way and stuck to the game plan and no one tried to do anything extra cause it was homecoming”.

Saugus Combined for 282 offensive yards. Dallaire Saugus’ Varsity Quarterback had 148 passing yards with a passing touchdown. Saugus finished with 134 rushing yards with 3 touchdowns on the ground.
